Weekly Prayer Topics for the Thanksgiving Season
This November, we invite you to spend time growing in gratitude for the many blessings God provides. Each week we will provide you with a prayer focus and a short devotional. We encourage you to spend time reflecting on these blessings and praying over the different topics during your personal time with the Lord throughout the week.
For the week of November 26, we will be reflecting on Spiritual Blessings
Community Care Christmas
Now through December 25
At Village Church East, we want the community of Carol Stream to know that we are here and ready to help them! The Lord has opened doors for us to partner with the Village Social Services department – if they hear of a need in the community, they can call on us to help meet it.
In order to facilitate a swifter response from our church family, we are starting a Community Care Fund – our goal is to fill it with $3000 by the end of the year, so that we will be ready to “hit the ground running” in service to our community in 2024.
Lunch with the Pastor
First Sunday of Each Month | 1:00 pm | Brunch Cafe, Roselle
One of our favorite ways to get to know someone new is at the “kitchen table!” The first Sunday of each month, Pastor Craig, his wife Beth, and a few members of our church go out to lunch after church with any visitors who are interested in learning more about Village Church East.
We promise, we won’t ask you intrusive questions… we’d love to just take you to lunch and get to know you!
Women’s Bible Study
Next Session December 2 | 9:30 – 11:00 am | Langfelder Home
In Living For What Really Matters- a study through the book of Philippians, author Teresa S. Anderson guides you through the book of Philippians showing that living a life deeply rooted in Christ takes more than trying to manufacture joy out of nowhere. In order to live a life for Jesus, among the people of Jesus, we need unity and community, authenticity and dependence on God no matter the season. Out of that, we will experience a deep and meaningful joy. This 8 week Bible study teaches us how to intentionally develop lives that make a difference- by growing deep roots in God’s Word, developing a true Biblical community, and blossoming in the midst of whatever we face.
Sign up to receive information about additional dates and meeting locations. Books are also available for those who wish to complete the study but are not able to attend the group meetings.
