Backpack Drive for Carol Stream Students

The Village of Carol Stream has entrusted us with leading this year’s Backpack Drive! We will be collecting new school supplies to give to local Newcomer students and families. Items can be placed in the bin in the main lobby at Fountain View.

We will also need help packing the backpacks and distributing them at the apartment complex. If you would like to help with either of these events, please sign up using the link below to receive updates on dates and locations.

National Night Out

August 6  |  5:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Carol Stream Town Center

We are delighted to again be participating in Carol Stream’s National Night Out. VCE will have a table set up with activities for the children who attend. Our goal is to make connections in our community and show them the love of Jesus! Those interested in volunteering can sign up below, or see Christopher Patterson.

Open-Air Service

August 11  |  10:30 am | Hampe Park

We invite you to a church service in God’s creation on Sunday, August 11. Bring an lawn chair and meet us in the pavillion at Hampe Park. This service will feature a recap from our EDGE team on their mission trip in South Dakota, which you won’t want to miss! Unfortunately we will not be able to livestream from the park, so please plan to worship in-person if you are able.

Following service, we will set up for our August picnic. Please bring a dish to share, and stay for this wonderful time of fellowship. We will have coolers available if you need to keep something chilled.

Men, this monthly event is just for you! Come together over breakfast for a time of prayer and fellowship. This is a great opportunity to get to know other men from VCE, or to bring a friend. If it’s your first time attending, then breakfast is on us! See Darren Gruett with any questions.

Road Trip to Village Point

August 18  |  10:30 am |  Village Point Church, Elk Grove Village

We have been invited to worship at Village Point Church in Elk Grove Village. Back in 2020, Pastor Leandro worked diligently to renovate their church building into a beautiful house of worship. He will be sharing more about that process over lunch following the service. We are praying that Village Church East gets a similar opportunity, as even now we continue to search for a permanent space to call home. 

EDGE Youth Group

2nd & 4th Sundays  |  1:00 pm  |  The Oasis

Edge, our Village Students ministry, is for students in 6th – 12th Grade. Village Students exists to bring about intentional transformation in students’ lives. At Edge, we intentionally create experiences that unite students, ignite passion for Christ, and develop skills make disciples.

Our Edge Youth Group generally meets on the second and fourth Sundays of every month, from 1 – 3 pm. Regular meeting location is the Oasis, but special events may take students elsewhere in the community. Contact Craig Jarvis or Jessica Foster for more details or other upcoming events.

Perennials

Perennials is a ministry for those who are 55+, able to meet during the daytime and committed to long-term growth as followers of Jesus Christ. We gather on the third Thursday of each month for fellowship, teaching, prayer, and fun. For the summer, we will have some special gathering times and locations – please click the button below for the summer schedule.
