Summer of Outreach
Village Church East of Carol Stream
Water Bottle Wrapping Party
June 30 | 1:30 pm | Village Church of Bartlett (back parking lot)
Many hands make light work – help us wrap 2,500 water bottles to prepare for the Independence Day Parade. We’ll meet in the parking lot at Village Church of Bartlett and set up stations for wrapping bottles, then load them into our trailer. Food will be provided, and there may even be a prize or two for whoever can wrap the most bottles!
Independence Day Parade
July 4 | 8:30 am | Carol Stream Town Center
Get ready to give out 2,500 “cups” of cold water in the name of Jesus! As is our tradition at VCE, we will be marching in the Carol Stream parade on July 4 and handing out ice cold water bottles. Participants should park at Town Center or Fountain View – shuttles will run between 8:30-9:20 to take you to the staging area. The parade kicks off at 10:00 am.
Backpack Drive for Carol Stream Students
The Village of Carol Stream has entrusted us with leading this year’s Backpack Drive! We will be collecting new school supplies to give to local Newcomer students and families. Items can be placed in the bin in the main lobby at Fountain View.
We will also need help packing the backpacks and distributing them at the apartment complex. If you would like to help with either of these events, please sign up using the link below to receive updates on dates and locations.
National Night Out
August 6 | 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Carol Stream Town Center
We are delighted to again be participating in Carol Stream’s National Night Out. VCE will have a table set up with activities for the children who attend. Our goal is to make connections in our community and show them the love of Jesus! Those interested in volunteering can sign up below, or see Christopher Patterson.
