Fall Launch
August 30 | Village Church East
As the leaves change and a new season begins, we are thrilled to kick off our Fall Launch! Join us as we celebrate all the ways God is moving through our church family and discover where you can get connected, grow, and serve.
During the service, each of our ministry directors will share a quick highlight of what’s in store this fall—from kids and youth to women’s and men’s ministries. Whether you are looking to build deeper relationships, strengthen your faith, or make a difference in our community, there is a place for you here. Come ready to be inspired and find your spot to serve and plug in!
Alpha Training Session
August 31 | 6:30 p.m. | Village Church East
VCE Is excited to host another Alpha ministry this fall. Alpha is a multi-week course that allows those who are new to the Christian life or have questions about faith to have a safe space to learn about truth. Sessions include a meal, a video lesson, and small group discussion.
Those planning to volunteer with Alpha are required to attend the next training session on August 31 when we will run-through a typical Alpha night. Please note: This is a change from the original date.
Additionally, we will have cards that you can pass out to invite people and a limited number of yard signs for those who want them. Please talk with Pastor Craig if you would like one.
Our first official Alpha meeting will be on September 9 and will run through November 18 each Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Lunch with the Pastor
September 6 | 1:00 p.m. | Village Tavern
One of our favorite ways to get to know someone new is at the “kitchen table!” The first Sunday of each month, Pastor Craig, his wife Beth, and a few members of our church go out to lunch after church with any visitors who are interested in learning more about Village Church East. We promise, we won’t ask you intrusive questions… we’d love to just take you to lunch and get to know you!
Women’s Fall Brunch
Saturday, September 12 | 9:00-11:00 a.m. | Village Church East
This special morning is designed to offer women a meaningful time of encouragement, connection, and spiritual refreshment. Together, we will enjoy brunch, worship and our guest speaker, Monika Langdon. She will encourage us to find strength and stability in Christ, our steadfast anchor, in our daily lives.

Summer Picnics
September 13 | Village Church East
At Village Church East, we know one of the best ways to spend time together is over a meal! We love our tradition of pot-luck picnics on the second Sunday of the summer months. This is a great opportunity for those newer to VCE to learn more about opportunities to get connected. And friends and guests are always welcome!
We’ll provide the burgers, hot dogs, plates, and utensils. We ask that everyone who is able brings a dish to share. Not sure what to bring? Those with last names beginning with A-L can bring a main or side dish, last names M-Z can bring a main or a dessert.
Also, if you’re able to help with set up or tear down, please talk with Darren Gruett.
Men’s Breakfast
September 19 | 7:00 a.m. | Brunch Cafe, Roselle
Men, this monthly event is just for you! Come together over breakfast for a time of prayer and fellowship. This is a great opportunity to get to know other men from VCE, or to bring a friend. If it’s your first time attending, then breakfast is on us! See Darren Gruett with any questions.
Women’s Fall Bible Study
September 26-November 21 (Every Two Weeks) | 9:30-11:00 a.m. | Village Church East
Life’s busyness can crowd out the quiet space we need for God to speak and for us to listen. As we journey through Breathe, a Bible study journal by Priscilla Shirer, our hope is that women will discover the freedom of creating Sabbath margin in their lives.
Join us for fellowship at 9:00 a.m., followed by Bible study at 9:30 a.m.

EDGE Youth Group
2nd and 4th Sundays | 12:30-2:30 p.m. | Village Church East
Edge, our Village Students ministry, is for students in 6th – 12th Grade. Village Students exists to bring about intentional transformation in students’ lives. At Edge, we intentionally create experiences that unite students, ignite passion for Christ, and develop skills to make disciples.
Our Edge Youth Group generally meets 2nd and 4th Sundays after church. Regular meeting location is at VCE, but special events may take students elsewhere in the community. Contact Craig Jarvis or Jessica Foster for more details or other upcoming events.
